Main duties of the job
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be:
* Responsible for managing the delivery of specific and defined elements of a project or projects, which may span Trust-wide or System-wide initiatives.
* Supporting the coordination of tasks, facilitating, and monitoring progress of project status across the life cycle to meet cost, quality, and time models.
* Improving performance across projects and the wider department.
* Providing day-to-day supervision or coordination of staff working on specific projects.
* Delivering training on your own project to clinicians, management, and staff at all levels.
You will also champion and demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviours as part of the Trust's Improving Together programme, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in your practice and encouraging these behaviours in the wider team and across the Trust.
Additionally, you will:
* Support requirements gathering by evidencing the need for change through business analytical skills and benchmarking of current activity.
* Carry out process mapping activities and produce visual maps to support the scoping of change and develop change requirements.

Appointment to the substantive Band 6 post will depend on:
* Successfully demonstrating that all key assessment criteria and role requirements are fully met.
* Completion of the development pathway from Band 5 to Band 6.
If these requirements are not met during the 18-month contract, the post will end at Band 5.

Experience
Essential criteria
* One years' experience of working in the field of project management or change management plus some project leadership experience
* Understanding of a range of work procedures and practices in the field of project & programme management (e.g. project governance, risk management)
* Experience of process mapping & producing visual maps and/or gathering business analytics to support change
Qualifications

* Degree qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge of project management/change acquired through significant experience in the field and some training.
