What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Asylum & Review Housing Options Officer Job Ref: Rugby RQ1412427 Pay Rate: £22.62 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3-4 months City: RUGBY Basic DBS disclosure required The post-holder will complete a range of tasks to enable the front-end of the service to operate effectively. Key responsibilities: Assess and review housing options for individuals seeking asylum and vulnerable residents, ensuring all recommendations are in line with council policies and regulations. Handle complex cases, providing clear guidance on housing rights, homelessness prevention, and support pathways. Conduct thorough reviews of decisions made within the housing options service, ensuring compliance with legal standards. Qualifications: Degree-level education or equivalent through relevant training/experience. Knowledge: Knowledge of current and future challenges facing social housing and public services. An understanding of legislation, policy, practice and current thinking around the delivery of housing needs services to residents/service users Experience: Experience of using case management systems including (or similar to) Jigsaw and QL. Experience in assessment and review of section 202 required Skills & Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of audiences and convey complex information in a straightforward way in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to constructively challenge in the workplace – but to also overcome obstacles and proactively find solutions through logical thinking. Ability to act flexibly and operate effectively in a changing environment, and to develop and acquire new skills and knowledge. Ability to work highly effectively and flexibly as part of a team and to support colleagues, including managers, within a team.
