Duties and Responsibilities: The appointee will participate in the clinical assisted conception programme. There are no duties in general obstetrics and gynaecology. However, the clinical fellow may be asked to do Registrar grade (Tier2/3) O&G on call on an ad hoc basis. The appointee must agree to work within the regulations of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority in relation to both clinical and research duties. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students attend the department and some participation in teaching is expected. Regular research seminars are held and the appointee will be expected to attend and contribute to these meetings. The appointee will be responsible to the Head of Department. Experience needed It is essential that the appointee has a clinical interest in Reproductive Medicine and is committed to the care of the patients. Previous experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology is essential. Commitment to research is also essential and some previous experience would be beneficial. Prospective career grade candidates need to ensure that they have any Out Of Program permissions in place in order to avoid delaying agreed start dates. This may involve application to the relevant School, the RCOG and GMC depending on local regulations.
