We have an exciting opportunity available for a Kitchen Assistant to join our Glentress team on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week. In return we will offer you an hourly pay rate of £11.44 per hour (increasing to £12 per hour if monthly targets are met), a place to develop your skills and the chance to work in some of the UK’s most stunning forest environments. Our Kitchen Assistant: Open all year round, as a Kitchen Assistant you will play a pivotal role in our Forest Retreat building, the hub of the location. This is our reception, the first port of call for guests checking in on their holiday. It houses a shop, bar, and restaurant. Opening hours are location and season dependant but there are no late openings which allows a better work/life balance. We are looking for someone with previous experience cooking in the kitchen at any level. Your Responsibilities: Prepare and cook delicious meals, ensuring top-quality food and presentation. Follow the cleaning rota, to ensure the regular cleaning of all kitchen areas, equipment and appliances to meet the required high standards of cleanliness. Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks. Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators. Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher. Understanding and encouraging the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation is to the highest standards of hygiene. Due to our remote location you cannot reach the main site by bus so you must have relaible transport to and from your shifts.
