Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 (37.5 Hours per week)
Permanent Role
£30,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for a portfolio of clients.
2. Reviewing work that has been prepared by assistants and accountants.
3. Preparing accounts, VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and any other compliance work needed for filing at Companies House and HMRC.
4. Ownership of compliance across your own portfolio, maintaining a thorough review process for all work, ensuring a consistent and compliant service is delivered and statutory filing dates are met.
5. Bookkeeping for clients using Xero, Free Agent, and QuickBooks as needed.
6. Training junior members of the team.
7. Dealing with all communications for clients, both written and verbally.
8. Dealing with the inbound and outbound post, ensuring it is dealt with accordingly.
9. Making sure that the clients are invoiced at the right time, and for any additional work.
10. Tax planning with clients.
11. Ensuring the clients are registered for the relevant taxes with HMRC.
12. Keeping Companies House records up to date and accurate for the clients, ensuring that any forms needed are completed and filed at Companies House.
13. Processing payroll for clients.
14. Covering for colleagues during periods of illness and holidays, including email cover for clients.
15. Training new starters and accountants in the team.
16. Supporting and covering the Team Manager and other team members during periods of absence.
17. Supporting the Client Partners and Senior Management Team on growth, meeting and speaking with prospective clients, and attending events as required.
What Skills are Required
1. Working towards an accounting qualification or qualified by experience.
2. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
3. Commitment to getting it right first time.
4. Ability to deal with clients and members of the company with empathy, in line with the company values.
5. Develop self through CPD and relevant training to ensure up to date with all relevant legislation.
6. Working knowledge of accounting systems and software.
7. Strong organization and analytical skills.
8. The ability to build trusting relationships with relevant stakeholders.
