We are launching a vibrant new bar and restaurant in the Sailortown area of Belfast, offering a blend of innovative cuisine, unique drinks, and an inviting atmosphere. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining operational excellence.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the bar and restaurant, ensuring smooth service, staff management, and customer satisfaction. This role will involve assisting in financial management, staff training, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality management and a passion for great food and service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Support: Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency in both front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
* Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate staff, ensuring they deliver excellent customer service. Step in to manage shifts in the absence of the General Manager.
* Customer Service: Maintain high standards of service and handle customer complaints or queries in a professional manner.
* Financial Support: Help monitor financial performance, including managing cash flow, assisting with stock control, and supporting budgeting efforts.
* Staff Training & Development: Assist in recruiting, training, and developing the team to ensure high performance and a positive work environment.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are strictly followed, maintaining a safe environment for staff and customers.
* Event Support: Assist in planning and executing promotional events, special nights, and other marketing initiatives to drive customer engagement.
* Inventory Management: Support the management of inventory, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and liaising with suppliers.
* Problem Solving: Quickly address any operational issues that arise during service, ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience.
Qualifications:
* Experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor in a bar/restaurant setting.
* Strong leadership and team-building skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Financial literacy, with the ability to assist in budget management and cost control.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry.
* Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working in the Belfast hospitality scene.
* Familiarity with bar and restaurant management software.
* Experience assisting with new venue openings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
