University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a proactive experienced individual for the role of Business Manager for the Chief Executive.
The Business Manager for the Chief Executive is a crucial role. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer in ensuring the efficient operation of the Chief Executive's Office whilst supporting the wider strategic objectives and responding to issues facing the Trust. This includes supporting strategic, system-wide change to attain the Trust's corporate objectives in response to issues within the Trust and the Provider Collaborative and wider Integrated Care system.
The purpose of the role is to work as a key member of the Chief Executive Officer's team in managing relationships with internal and external partners and maximizing the effectiveness of the Chief Executive and the Corporate Team.
The role will be a senior member of the Chief Executive Officer's team and will require consistently operating with a high level of political awareness, personal influence, and skill, working effectively with external partners including providers, NHSE/I regulators, patients, and carers to deliver programme objectives in accordance with the aims and ambitions of the Trust and the related portfolio responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Work in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer leading the development of the Chair & Chief Executive's annual business plan and refinement of key strategic documents and policies that underpin the delivery of the Chief Executive Officer's portfolio of responsibilities.
2. Lead the development of effective communication structures for presenting updates to various internal and external forums, working with colleagues across the Trust and wider system to support business planning and monitoring ensuring progress on delivery.
3. Represent the Chief Executive Officer's team acting as an ambassador for the Trust to influence and negotiate change within the Trust and wider system to minimize the potential for quality service improvements and reduced variation.
4. Contribute to work with the senior leadership team in the development, management, and implementation of the Chief Executive Officer's portfolio of responsibility for required transformational change for improved quality service delivery across various workstreams.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Masters Level qualification and significant senior management experience gained in holding several senior roles across a range of health and care providers.
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development relevant to the role.
* MBA.
* Recognised management qualification.
Experience
* Demonstrable senior management experience in a healthcare organization.
* Knowledge and experience of line management, including recruitment, development, appraisal, and HR processes.
* Wide-ranging experience of leading major initiatives through to successful delivery, relating to quality, cost, and timescales.
* Experience of managing quality improvements and programmes in the NHS environment engaging clinical staff, patients, and other key stakeholders in collaborative projects.
* Considerable experience of managing significant change and developing services in difficult or sensitive environments, involving situations of conflict.
* In-depth knowledge and experience across relevant areas including finance, people management, and programme management.
* Budgetary and financial management experience.
* Experience of managing large-scale programmes across organizations.
* Experience of developing systems for effective performance reporting.
* Experience of CPD relevant to the role.
* Previously undertaken a similar role with recent experience in a relevant role in the NHS Acute and community settings.
* Experience of working in a Health and Social Care ICS system type role.
