``` Who You Are We are looking to appoint a dynamic, driven, innovative, and forward-thinking Equipment Lead to join our service. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Occupational Therapist and the Commissioning Lead. Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and clinical reasoning skills are vital for the success of this role. As this is an autonomous role, you will be expected to hold a small caseload of complex cases and have extensive knowledge of community equipment and its application in supporting individuals to remain in the community and maintain engagement in purposeful activities and occupational pursuits. A qualified Occupational Therapist with registration with the Health and Social Care Professional Council (HSCPC) is required. Additionally, the ability to develop strong working relationships, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and expertise in evidence-based practice for equipment provision are essential. What the Job Involves This is a unique role that supports a system-wide approach across Health and Social Care to ensure the appropriate and cost-effective prescription of assistive equipment and minor adaptations. The Equipment Lead will be responsible for enabling evidence-based decision-making for equipment provision and is integral to joint working with acute hospital colleagues and a range of community health and social care professionals prescribing community equipment. The main duties involve supporting budget and resource management objectives, delivering equipment training and demos, organizing and chairing equipment operational meetings, liaising with the commissioning lead to resolve equipment billing discrepancies, and providing advice on equipment prescriptions. The role also includes active participation in the community equipment workstream, coordinating operational meetings, delivering innovation to equipment services, and ensuring prescribers are informed about available community equipment. Mobile working is required, with a significant portion of time working from home, and the role requires occasional on-site presence. ```
