We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will support students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related conditions, helping them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. Working alongside the class teacher, you will help deliver tailored learning activities that promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in planning and delivering lessons and learning activities.
2. Provide ongoing feedback on students' progress and achievements.
3. Monitor and report on individual student progress, ensuring compliance with school policies.
4. Support behaviour management, adapting approaches to meet each student's needs.
5. Encourage social, emotional, and personal development in line with the school's curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications
6. Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
7. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport).
8. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
9. Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
10. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
11. Flexible, creative, and able to provide tailored support to meet individual student needs.
