Job Description
The Planning for Place Programme sits within the Improvement Service (IS) and provides specific support to councils and their partners to collaborate on place-based approaches to joint planning, resourcing and delivery of places that enable all communities to flourish.
The Improvement Service (IS) is the ‘go-to’ organisation for local government improvement in Scotland and a publicly funded company limited by guarantee. We exist to support councils and their partners to improve the health, quality of life and opportunities of all Scottish people through community leadership, strong local governance and the delivery of high quality, efficient local services.
We are recruiting for a part-time Project Officer to join the Planning for Place Programme.
The Project Officer will work collaboratively with the Improvement Service, Public Health Scotland, as well as Local Government, Scottish Government, COSLA, SOLACE and other local and national partners to help deliver the programme.
We are looking to recruit a Project Officer who will be able to quickly develop strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Location: West Lothian Council Civic Centre, Howden South Road, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 6FF
It is anticipated that the role will involve a blended model of office and home working. This flexible approach will be agreed between employee and line manager.
Duration of Contract: This role is available as a fixed-term contract or as a secondment until 30 September 2025.
Hours: Part-time – 18 hours per week. Hours can be worked flexibly in agreement with the Line Manager.
