Are you into creative writing? Can’t get enough of words? Book a new role in the award-winning Digital Content and Communications Team at the University of Wolverhampton.
Do you know what makes a good news story, and are you confident you can tell it to the world? Do you know your complementary from your complimentary? Do you know when to practise and when not to practice? Is grammar, editing and proofreading your best friend? The University of Wolverhampton is looking for an experienced External Communications Manager who has an eye for a good news story, can delve into the detail of a fantastic research project, is experienced at working with the media and can create engaging and flawless copy for a variety of channels.
You will be a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised, be confident in working with a wide variety of diverse stakeholders, and work effectively as part of a creative and innovative content and communications team.
You will be familiar with using website content management and media monitoring systems, and ideally will also have experience of creating video content to accompany written articles, with an interest in extending news to audio channels such as podcasting.
A relevant degree will have given you a good grounding and your portfolio of work should reflect a dynamic range of creative and professional writing.
The Digital Content and Communications Team covers all corporate internal staff and student communications, external PR and the University’s corporate Social Media channels.
The role is full-time, 37 hours across the 5-day working week. Agile working will see you working from home and across our campuses in Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford (the office is based in Wolverhampton) and will include some weekend work as well as out of office hours cover for events. We offer 30 days’ holiday a year, with Bank Holidays on top of this and an excellent pension scheme.
