As a Full-stack Software Engineer at TP ICAP, you will be part of a talented team delivering business-critical software for the internal broking division and their external customer base. You will work within the Observability team integrating OpenTelemetry into the Fusion Platform and help build and maintain Observability Platform Tooling and Capabilities. This role will be an important part in steering the future direction of Observability, setting the standards and guardrails for all Fusion teams and the organization as a whole, building world-class Observability at TP ICAP.
Role Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the Senior Tooling and Automation Engineer to design, build, deploy, and maintain an Observability solution to align with the IT strategy/vision.
2. Work across Fusion and other Engineering Teams in TP ICAP to integrate the Observability solution into the codebase.
3. Work in partnership with QA to ensure the delivery of quality software.
4. Communicate with governance streams to ensure adherence to and development of process, quality, and architectural design.
5. Deliver against both Functional and Non-functional requirements.
6. Take Ownership/Accountability for the development of key features and drive to completion.
7. Communicate effectively on progress and ensure impediments are raised early to minimize impact on delivery.
8. Take part in incident management to ensure Production defects are rectified based on their criticality and severity and to a sufficient standard.
9. Guide and support the team in implementation and adherence to Change Control principles.
10. Ensure inter-project dependencies and project risks are understood and managed.
11. Use technical experience to collaborate with architecture to guide software solutions.
Experience / Competences
1. Experience of Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies such as Source Code Management; git, DevOps platforms; GitLab, TeamCity.
2. Experience and understanding of the importance of maintaining code quality using Unit/Integration/e2e testing tools such as NXUnit, Moq, Jasmine, Cucumber, utilizing Quality Assurance expertise to automate regression.
3. OpenTelemetry – instrumentation and use of OTEL solutions.
4. APM Experience - AppDynamics, DataDog, Dynatrace.
5. AWS OpenSearch, Elastic, and ingestion tooling Cribl.
6. Knowledge and use of Cloud Technologies and concepts preferably on AWS or Azure/GCP etc.
7. Experience of OO design principles such as SOLID / DRY / YAGNI to create maintainable, self-documenting, and high-quality code.
8. Experience of utilizing Dev(Sec)Ops to automate and minimize delivery times from Development to Production e.g., utilizing CI/CD.
9. Use of and working with Containerization to aid deployability, testing, and loose coupling.
10. Agile exponent to speed up delivery, reduce risk, and provide maximum value to the end users.
11. Knowledge of the Broking Trading business domain.
12. Knowledge or application of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
