Transport Planner
* Location: Ipswich outskirts
* Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Day to Day of the Role:
* Manage the planning, routing, and logistics of Low Loaders and Sprayers to optimise efficiency.
* Proactively manage and address any necessary changes based on demand.
* Ensure the transport plan is effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
* Schedule and coordinate daily store runs to refuel equipment at sites.
* Work with external transport suppliers to secure adequate coverage at the best possible rates.
* Monitor and schedule inspections, MOTs, servicing, and driver holidays.
* Identify operational challenges, potential risks, and opportunities to enhance transport efficiency.
* Maintain the haulage register for all externally sourced transport services.
* Handle phone and email inquiries promptly and efficiently.
* Continuously seek improvements to enhance transport operations.
* Update internal systems with fleet and plant records.
* Prepare reports related to transportation planning.
* Provide general administrative support for the Transport department.
* Participate in the ‘Out of Hours’ rota, which requires being on call from 18:00-23:00 on a rota basis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail).
* Good organisational skills, able to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
* A diligent, conscientious, analytical approach with a high standard of administration skills.
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Ability to act on initiative, identify opportunities & proactive in putting forward ideas & solutions.
* Plans and organises systematically yet flexibly to achieve objectives.
