About the Role:
As Student Wellbeing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the campus Student Wellbeing team, ensuring our students receive the highest level of support in their academic journey and personal development.
What You'll Do:
1. Oversee the operational management of Student Wellbeing, Learning Support, and Counselling services, ensuring students receive tailored and high-quality support.
2. Lead, manage, and develop a dedicated team of Student Wellbeing Coordinators, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
3. Drive proactive wellbeing initiatives and campaigns, including during key periods like induction and enrolment.
4. Manage key student processes, including mitigating circumstances applications, fitness to study cases, and safeguarding responsibilities.
5. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust safeguarding practices are in place and liaising with external agencies as required.
6. Use data to evaluate the performance of the Student Wellbeing team and identify areas for improvement.
7. Collaborate with internal teams, including Admissions, Immigration and Compliance, to ensure students receive comprehensive and timely support.
8. Manage the Student Wellbeing service budget and ensure resources are used effectively to meet strategic goals.
9. Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the Student Wellbeing team's work, acting as an ally and advocate for all students.
What You'll Bring:
1. Extensive experience in a senior wellbeing or equivalent role within Higher Education.
2. A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding requirements, support principles, and best practices in student wellbeing.
3. Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing teams, implementing policies, and driving positive change.
4. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-demand environment.
5. Resilience and emotional intelligence to navigate complex and sensitive situations effectively.
6. Exceptional interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
7. Competent IT skills and familiarity with systems such as CPOMS or equivalent safeguarding tools.
