Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) Who You Are As an Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor), you are a professional with at least 3 years of experience, registered with Social Care Wales, and residing within a 40-mile radius of Cardiff. You have expertise in evaluating and preparing prospective foster carers, ensuring they are ready for their fostering journey. You must be self-motivated, capable of working independently while maintaining regular communication and supervision with Cardiff Children’s Services. What the job involves You will be responsible for conducting in-depth assessments of prospective foster carers, adhering to the British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) Form F Assessment standards. This includes making initial assessment visits, completing the full Form F, and presenting your assessments at the Cardiff Children’s Services Panel. You will conduct face-to-face visits, provide comprehensive reports, and ensure all assessments and recommendations meet professional standards. Regular communication with Cardiff Children’s Services and attendance at panel meetings on Wednesdays is required.
