To succeed in this role, you should have previous relevant experience such as geo-environmental site investigations, assessments and reporting. An appropriate degree in geology, geography or an environmental subject is required. As part of your role, it will be necessary to complete site visits and site work, and full clean driving licence is required for the role. Your new role As our new Consultant/Senior Consultant, you will be part of our Site Solutions team based in Edinburgh. The role will involve being an active member of an established national team dedicated to Contaminated Land. You will be involved in the preparation and management of environmental and contaminated land assessments, supervising site investigations and environmental monitoring, undertaking site inspections and associated site works, and remediation supervision. Your key tasks and responsibilities will include: Phase 1 environmental site assessments. Undertaking desk-based research. Carrying out site visits. Soil/rock logging and environmental monitoring. A supporting/main role in Phase 2 environmental site investigations. Assessment and interpretation of soil and groundwater analytical data. Environmental risk assessment. Preparing factual and interpretative reports. Collaborating with colleagues in our multidisciplinary and international market, including Buildings, Transport, Energy, Water, Architecture and Landscape and Management Consulting. Contributing to Ramboll’s climate and sustainability commitments through the Site Solutions services we provide and the ways in which we work. For the senior position, in addition to the above, the role will include: Supporting existing clients and helping to develop new client relationships. Project management of contaminated land and brownfield projects from start to finish. Providing technical expertise and mentoring of earlier career team members. Site supervision where senior expertise is needed, including site characterisation and remediation. For this role, we believe your starting point is: Bachelors or Masters’ level qualification in one or more of the following subjects: geology, geography, hydrogeology or an environmental science subject such as contaminated land. Full clean driving licence. Experience with IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Be numerically competent. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Competent and efficient report writing skills. In addition, for the senior role, you will be expected to have experience supporting and developing early career colleagues, some client management experience, as well as managing project from start to finish with minimum input required.
