An exciting opportunity to join our Buying Team as a Quality Assurance Manager based in our Head office, Windermere. This role will ensure that our products sourced by our Buying team meet all the quality, safety ethical, sustainable and compliance benchmarks specified by Lakeland
Job Purpose
It’s an exciting and varied job. You’ll be working with our Buying team to support all aspects of Buying Compliance. This includes assessing our Food products-their ingredients, labelling and compliance. The role also includes ensuring product standards are set high against all ethical, technical, sustainable and social benchmarks, and supporting the team to find the most effective way of achieving this. Horizon Scanning for future legislation changes that may impact our product offering, and supporting an appropriate route forward. Managing and setting a budget for our network of advisors, consultants and third party test houses, as well as providing our key trading standards liaison and managing the QA Administrator.
About you
Essentials
* Food technologist experience
* Graduate level education or equivalent
* Proven experience in Quality Management
* Proven experience of managing a team
* If possible multi-category quality experience including Food, General
* Merchandise, Electricals and Chemicals
* If possible a degree related to Quality Management or alternative recognised Quality / Project Management qualification
Desirables
* Excellent skills in managing workload and prioritising tasks at both a micro and macro level
* Strong verbal communication and team-working skills across the Buying Team and with third parties
* Strong written language skills
* A high level of attention to detail
* Able to not only adapt to change, but embrace it.
* Able to project manage complex projects, and provide a clear road map
* of priorities to move Lakeland forward in this area
* Ability to demonstrate a balance between 100% compliance and a more pragmatic/ risk based approach
* Adaptable in managing new challenges and assigning workload based on likely benefits
