Job Title: Graphic Designer Reports to: Creative Hub Manager The Graphic Designer will be responsible for providing a high quality, innovative and creative in-house design service. The role holder will provide knowledge and expertise to develop creative solutions for marketing and communication initiatives that will be implemented across a range of media and reflect service brand guidelines. The Graphic Designer will also contribute to the Communications and Engagement Strategy in relation to critical incidents and will work in support of Gold Command. Main Activities: The main duties and responsibilities associated with the role include the following: Combining creativity and technical skills to develop creative concepts and design for a range of media including print, web, social media, video and presentations. Liaising with internal customers to discuss and agree concepts, design, development and presentation of creative work. Providing creative and innovative solutions that address different audiences and maximise the opportunities for engagement with the community. Identifying design trends that can be utilised and/or adapted to optimise communication campaigns and to determine the way in which these are deployed. Working closely with the in-house Print Unit within the Creative Hub to provide optimum print solutions. Liaising with colleagues within the Creative Hub and wider Strategic Communications and Engagement Department to prioritise creative jobs from the job management system. Salary: £31,643 - £32,293 plus £1365 environmental allowance Essential: Qualifications and Experience: 2 A Levels (or equivalent) and At least 2 years relevant experience within a professional graphic design environment. Skills, Experience and Knowledge: Practical skills of using full Adobe suite including InDesign and Illustrator. Proven expertise in designing print, digital and marketing material for successful campaigns, including social media graphics and brochures Ability to understand and conceptualise graphic design requirements to meet specific briefs. Proven track record of working within corporate brand guidelines including styling and imagery guidelines. Other: IT literate specifically in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Outlook).
