An exciting and rare opportunity is available for an administration assistant with health care experience to join a small and friendly team in the Neurophysiology department at St Lukes Hospital.
The post holder will undertake a full range of direct high quality care and administration duties working under the supervision of a qualified clinical physiologist and Consultant Neurophysiologist.
The Neurophysiology department is based at St Lukes Hospital and consists of 2 highly qualified technologists, one Consultant Neurophysiologist and a Medical Secretary. St. Lukeâs provides facilities mainly for GP patients, outpatient clinics and in-patients on the wards, although there is a small amount of mobile work on the wards for patients at BRI.
The service undertake in excess of 2000 examinations throughout the year.
Maintain high standards of appearance, manner, punctuality and competence.
Work as part of a well-motivated team.
Cover the neurophysiology office, you will be expected to greet patients and book appointments, take phone calls.
Escort patients both within and outside the department.
Enable/assist patients to maintain their personal hygiene, aid in the dressing/undressing of patients and enable/assist patients with eating/drinking as required.
Pay due attention to privacy, dignity and respect at all times.
Enable/assist patients to access and use toilet facilities.
Preparation of the patient and work area for a wide range of diagnostic examinations.
Participate in clerical duties including patient registration, obtaining previous radiology records and using the radiology information computer system as required.
Contribute to maintaining cleanliness of equipment, cassettes, accessories and the general
work environment within the department.
Contribute to the health & safety and security of individuals and the workplace.
Participate in developments relating to clinical governance including audit and quality control duties.
Any other duties that may be relevant to the achievement of the NVQ Level 2 or 3 competencies.
To be aware of and observe all relevant Directorate, Trust and legislative policies and procedures including Health & safety at work, COSHH, Data protection act, Ionising Radiation Regulations, fire, control of infection and Major incident.
