The role involves proactive monitoring and tracking of cancer patients ensuring that their journey is processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with Cancer Waiting Time Targets.
It is imperative that the post holder has a full understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times Targets and the impact these have on both patient and Trust.
Applicants should have good IT skills and an understanding of medical terminology, which is essential. The ability to work with concentration and accuracy and to liaise with staff at all levels is also required.
The post holder will provide full and comprehensive administrative support to tumour-specific multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will track patients referred into the Trust on a suspected cancer pathway, documenting each step in the Somerset Cancer Register and escalating any investigations that fall outside of the agreed timescales. It is imperative each pathway is streamlined so that patients can be treated within the nationally agreed Cancer Waiting Times.
You will also be expected to prepare for and attend Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings where patients are reviewed by clinical teams and treatment plans are decided. During these meetings, you will operate the video conferencing equipment and record patient outcomes.

Qualifications
* RSA 3 or previous admin and clerical experience within the NHS or similar field
* Previous experience of MDT coordination or working in cancer services

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year pro rata per annum
