Company Overview:
Our client is a leading specialist M&E contractor (M&E Experience is NOT a must) with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including Transport, Data, Power, Production, and the Public sector. Known for their innovative approach and commitment to excellence, they are looking to expand their Infrastructure and Power team by hiring a dedicated and experienced Commercial Manager.
Role Overview:
As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the Infrastructure and Power projects. You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of contracts and ensuring the financial performance of projects aligns with company goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to high-profile projects and be a part of a dynamic and growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage all commercial activities related to Infrastructure and Power projects, including contract negotiation, cost control, and risk management.
2. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
4. Oversee the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
5. Provide strategic input to project teams, helping to identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and risk mitigation.
6. Monitor project performance against agreed KPIs, addressing any issues promptly to ensure projects remain on track.
7. Support the business development team by providing commercial input on new opportunities and tenders.
8. Mentor and develop junior members of the commercial team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Key Requirements:
9. Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the M&E or construction industry, ideally within the Infrastructure and Power sectors.
10. Strong understanding of contract law, commercial management, and risk management.
11. Excellent financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
12. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
13. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising workload effectively.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with project teams and clients.
15. Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
