Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team in Bicester, supporting the assembly, installation, and maintenance of advanced electrical systems for zero-emission vehicles. This role involves working with high-voltage systems, troubleshooting electrical faults, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, test, and commission electrical components and systems on zero-emission vehicles.
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring vehicles meet performance and safety standards.
* Work with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including batteries and control units.
* Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
* Assist in prototype development, testing, and validation of new electrical technologies.
* Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve processes and ensure quality control.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any technical issues.
Key Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical Systems, or a related field.
* Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably within the automotive, EV, or heavy vehicle industry.
* Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, CAN bus networks, and vehicle wiring.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Awareness of health and safety regulations related to electrical systems.
Desirable:
* Experience working with electric or hybrid vehicles.
* Knowledge of battery management systems and power electronics.
* Relevant electrical certifications (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, High Voltage Safety).
