About the role
We are seeking an experienced Executive Business Manager to join the Chief Officer Support service within Camden's Corporate Services Directorate. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic, high-level support to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, helping them lead and deliver Camden's key strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide strategic and dedicated support to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, including horizon scanning, relationship management, briefing preparation and oversight of governance and decision making in the directorate.
* Take ownership of tasks and priorities assigned by the Executive Director, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of strategic objectives.
* Write and proof-read high-quality briefing materials and documents for the Executive Director, ensuring they are fully prepared for key meetings and decision making.
* Lead, develop, and manage a team of Personal Assistants, ensuring the efficient operation of the Directorate's business.
* Foster a positive and flexible approach to problem-solving, adapting quickly to changes and service needs.
* Work in a hybrid environment, splitting time between working remotely and in-person at our main office, 5 Pancras Square, Kings Cross. A minimum of two days a week in the office is required
About You
We're looking for someone with strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging in high-level discussions with Camden's leadership and understanding the broader strategic direction of the Council. You should have:
* Proven experience providing executive or senior management support, ideally in a similar business management or executive support role.
* Experience in people management, including coaching, performance management, and leading a team.
* A track record of working in an empowered environment, confidently making decisions on behalf of senior leadership.
* Experience in local government, with a clear understanding of governance, decision-making, and public sector processes.
* Experience of working in a high-trust environment with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
