If so we could have the role for you We are recruiting a male Support Worker to join our weekend team, to help enrich the lives of the people we support in the Kinson and Muscliff area. You would need to hold a Full UK driving licence to be considered for this role, however access to your own vehicle is not essential. Autism Unlimited do not provide sponsorship. The role You would be supporting two incredible gentlemen called Michael & Lee who both live in their own properties. Michael is in his late twenties and lives in Kinson. Michael communicates through sign-a-long, Pecs cards and noise gestures He enjoys going out for meals, especially to KFC or to the local pub His favourite trips outside include walks in the forest or beach or exploring parts of the national trust At home Michael listening to white noise and colourful programmes such as Fireman Sam (get your singing skills ready) Lee is also in his late twenties and lives in Muscliff. Lee communicates through various aids such as PECS cards, body language and small word gestures which he often repeats for reassurance When the sun is shining, Lee loves being in the garden using the trampoline and running small circuit exercises Hours of work You would work a mixture of shifts between: 7am – 4pm or 3pm – 10pm A day in the life of a Support Worker would include: Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication Why join us Why join us?
