We’re looking for a proactive Business Generation Executive to join the existing team, where we can work together to Optimise the world’s transition to net zero and beyond. Our Sales & Marketing team is composed of nearly 20 energy sales experts, and together we have surpassed the annual sales target for the past 4 years in a row, whilst also achieving 20% Year on Year growth through to the £17m target assigned for FY 2024. About the role As a Business Generation Executive within Optimised, you will be part of the New Business Sales team, responsible for identifying and prospecting new companies for Optimised to work with. This is a key part of our ambitious plans to grow Optimised; this role will work closely with our Business Generation Team Leader, who has been in the industry for over ten years and will be able to offer personal coaching to help you progress in this role and your career. What you’ll actually do: Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and qualify ‘best client’ leads within Optimised target sectors, locate decision makers and further qualify leads to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. We are currently exploring new ways to reduce administrative burden to the team, focussing the BDE role on sophisticated lead qualification and progression of the lead, which we can share more in our conversation with you. Prospect/Client Engagements: Undertake calls and desktop research to convert leads into opportunities. Arrange appointments for the Optimised Sales Lead (and yourself where appropriate. Prepare for the appointment by qualifying the lead against qualification criteria, and providing a briefing note to the Sales Lead. Support with follow up activity as required, including nurture journey and communication with the prospect. Build and maintain quality client relationships over the phone. We use a targeted approach and will encourage you to do independent research on potential leads and areas for expansion – we want you to be making quality connections, not just hitting call targets CRM Database Management: Maintain accurate and regular CRM database records of communications with clients/prospects and recycle, eliminate and identify new database leads as necessary to ensure database relevance. Marketing and Communications: Help research, design and promote industry events aligned with sector sales strategies, developing networks to meet with high potential prospects. Utilise selected social media applications – e.g. LinkedIn - on behalf of the company to distribute targeted communications. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong and positive relationships with a range of internal stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Managed Services, and Finance. You will own the lead throughout the business and support stakeholders with the journey thorough to the prospect joining Optimised. We want you to manage and develop our clients, helping them to think long term and how our services can support. Sales Meetings: Participate in monthly and quarterly sales meetings either at one of our national offices to report on sales activity, wins and losses, and insights that may inform Optimised service range. Training: Actively build market knowledge and understanding of Optimised service lines through proactively spending time with other team members. Develop a personal training plan to achieve professional qualification(s) through internal and external training programmes.
