An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Transfusion department at University Hospitals Dorset for a Transfusion Practitioner. Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital (This is a UHD post and there may be a requirement to also work at Poole Hospital)Interview Date: TBC Main duties of the job You will be required to deliver training and lectures to individuals and groups of varying size including multiple disciplines and attend meetings of the hospital transfusion group, transfusion team as well as UHD specific meetings and regional and national transfusion meetings.You will be responsible for training and supporting clinical staff in sample collection, blood component collection and transfusion administration via the use of Haemonetics BloodTrack system ensuring staff understand their responsibilities in relation to compliance with regulations. You will also be responsible for the investigation and reporting of clinical transfusion and laboratory related incidents to SHOT/SABRE and perform root cause analysis when required following the department and Trust policies and procedures.
