Why is our eCommerce Engineering team the next step for you? In this role, you'll support our Worldwide Payment Gateway (WPG) an eCommerce payment platform allowing customers to process payments from their websites. Our eCom gateways safely and securely handle several million transactions per day for our customers around the world and we release code into these platforms at least once every few weeks. Extremely high availability and performance is what we do, and you can expect over 800 transactions per second to flow through these gateways on a busy day. Our Application Support team is growing and we operate according to the defined and deployed global operating model, maximising consistency across the wider global group. How will you contribute on a day to day basis? As part of our Application Support team, you'll seek resolutions to production incidents and provide development solutions to introduce application enhancements. You'll troubleshoot and investigate our production system problems of a 24 7 service where stability, reputation management and security are critical to the business' ongoing success. You'll coordinate and implement essential production maintenance tasks, assist with deployments and transitions of new products into live service, as well as automate processes wherever possible. You'll be part of an on call rota to support the platform, define, develop and maintain documentation knowledgebase, and proactively identify improvements and enhancements to working practices. What will make you the right fit for the team? You'll have prior experience in application support, ideally supporting Java platforms. You'll have experience with relational databases, preferable Oracle, and operational experience with Linux and Unix commands. We're looking for someone with knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Client/ Server topology. You'll be a keen advocate of continuous improvement and innovation, and have good stakeholder management skills. It's great if you have experience with source code control and ITIL service management processes. If you don't have experience with Java, you will have demonstrable knowledge of another programming language. How is Worldpay changing the world?
