Job Title: Pension Calculation Analyst
Job Type: Remote, Full time
Salary: £300 - £550 per day
Onsite parking: Available
Holidays: 28 days accrued for PAYE contractors, increasing to 33 days after 12 weeks.

Description:
1. Analysing business requirements, Trust Deed and Rules, and other scheme documentation while planning an appropriate software solution with a focus on accuracy, build efficiency, and maintainability.
2. Fostering a culture of quality and instilling the behavior required for success.
3. Interacting with third parties such as the scheme actuary and solicitors to clarify complex and technical queries.
4. Completing given tasks in a timely fashion, including managing deadlines appropriately.
5. Providing an efficient, professional service to meet all client needs and to promote the brand.
6. Producing detailed calculation proforma from first principles alongside other analysts and supporting automation test packs.
7. Working towards developing and optimizing end-to-end automation.
8. Building on technical expertise, capabilities, and skills while contributing towards measurable improvements.
9. Contributing to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and a single team culture to increase end-to-end automation efficiencies and results.
The Requirements:
1. Background in UK occupational pensions, specifically Defined Benefit (DB).
2. Self-starter attitude and ability to work well within ambiguity.
3. Adeptness at learning new technology and tools.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think through problems and implement solutions.
6. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work on virtual teams.
7. Process-driven with the ability to modify approach.
8. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
9. Working knowledge of MS Excel & Word.
10. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
11. Experience establishing standards and procedures and advocating best practices.
12. Some knowledge of Unix-based operating systems, use of the command line, and SQL is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
13. Strong knowledge of Contracting Out Requirements such as GMP.
14. Strong Defined Benefit knowledge, including historical knowledge of UK Pensions Legislation.
