Within the Families, Young Peoples and Childrens Directorate (FYPC) an exciting opportunity has become available in the Diana Children Community Service for an experienced Specialist Lead to join our Child and Family Support Service (CAFSS).
This team offers a whole family approach which encompasses emotional support, specialist therapeutic play and pre and post bereavement work.
If you are a dynamic, creative and flexible individual and have experience of working with families, children and young people who require support with their emotional wellbeing, we would like to hear from you.
The candidate will have considerable experience and knowledge of working with children and young people, and this will be underpinned by a degree level qualification in counselling, play therapy or equivalent; this will include relevant post qualification experience in this field of practice.
The candidate will need to be confident in understanding the needs of our service users who are children and young people effected by life-limiting life-threatening illness and complex ill health.
You are required to manage and lead a team of practitioners and support other staff across teams in the wider Diana Service, therefore excellent communication and strong leadership skills are essential.
The Child and Family Support Service is a community based service which covers and operates Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as service develops)
Main duties of the job
1. To manage and take overall responsibility for care quality performance and clinical activity by providing professional nursing/ counselling leadership and guidance, clinical advice and management in relation to the key dimensions of health care quality:

4. To ensure the delivery of a clinically effective service which meets the needs of individuals, families and communities in line with local and national development plans, Trust policies and procedures
5. To be responsible for the coordination of services and to promote optimum health, self-management and effective liaison between agencies.
6. The post holder will carry 24 hour responsibility and professional and managerial accountability, which includes management of staff, budgets, quality and standards of practice of all members of the team by enhancing systems such as clinical supervision, personal development and competency planning and monitoring, clinical audit, policy compliance checks etc.
