Watson Marlow Fluid TechnologySolutions is an SSE PLC Group company (). SSE (London Stock Exchange -FTSE 50) is a manufacturer of engineered solutions, employing 8500 peopleacross 130+ operating units globally. We offer a range of fluid handlingsolutions across the biotech and industrial markets.
This role will focus on:
1. The role of Buyer isto work on several projects to help with the achievement of operationalpurchasing objectives.
Raising manual purchase orders for both in direct and direct goods such as but not limited to, stock items, fittings, consumables, and maintenance part, from the department inbox.
2. Negotiating the best price and lead times from Suppliers.
3. Identify and lead opportunities within the business for innovation, cost savings, waste reduction and continuous improvement.
4. Reducing the number of day-to-day requisitions and utilizing the stock system.
5. Managing and setting up contracts.
6. Obtaining quotes for the requesting departments and updating stock cards.
7. Completing the daily low stock sheet.
8. Quarterly usage check on export orders, to maintain the correct quantity is being ordered.
9. Ensure that orders are placed in a timely and appropriate manner and that lead times and delivery schedules are appropriately managed
10. Reduction of category management for the large number of suppliers to be rationalised.
11. Supplier Non-Conformances processing
12. Updating cost savings and increases
13. Following the Company policy and procedures to the highest standard.
To be successful in this role, youwill need:
14. CIPS / IoSCMwould be beneficial.
15. Dealings withcontracting
16. Technicalknowledge in a buying role.
17. Manufacturingand Engineering buying.
18. Experiences ofimplementing change
19. Raw materialssuch as Steel / PTFE / EPDM / SILIUN etc. would be beneficial.
20. Ability toeffectively use computer and communication technology such as Microsoft Office,Teams and Excel.
21. Strong planningand organisation skills.
22. Ability tobuild relationships with stakeholders.
23. Self-motivatedand capable of decision making.
24. Strongcommunication and time management skills.
25. Driven andenjoys the challenge of change.
