As a Senior Store Development Project Manager, you will play a key role in driving the organisation's growth and success. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Planning: Developing comprehensive project plans, aligning projects with the organisation's overall business strategy, and managing property documentation and data.
- Leadership and Team Management: Leading, motivating, and managing project teams to ensure cohesive and efficient work, providing direction and support to foster a collaborative environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Establishing and maintaining clear communication with clients, team members, and senior leadership, providing regular project status updates, and effectively managing expectations.
- Project Planning and Execution: Overseeing the execution of store development projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Budget and Resource Management: Monitoring project budgets and controlling costs, allocating resources effectively, and preparing financial reports for senior management.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring all projects meet company standards and regulatory requirements, conducting site visits to monitor progress, and addressing any issues.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and promptly handling project-related issues to minimise impact.
- Team Coordination: Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including designers, contractors, and store staff, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Desired Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, building surveying, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly advantageous.
- Desired Experience: At least 5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in retail or store development, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Industry-Specific Experience: Experience in a property role or similar environment, with a strong drive to succeed and previous experience in managing high-profile projects in fast-paced settings.
- Desirable Competencies: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD), a strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations, excellent leadership and team management skills, strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities, effective communication and negotiation skills to work with various departments, and experience in coordinating with designers, contractors, and store staff.
