IT Support Engineer, Kent c£30-£35k + Bens DOE
Fantastic new opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join this global logistics service provider at their offices in Kent. This stand-alone position reports into the UK/EU IT Infrastructure and will take responsibility for a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to:
1. IT tickets management
2. IT network, servers, PCs, security, and backups across the UK/EU
3. IT administration, network configuration, troubleshooting, and responding to IT tickets
4. Deploying, monitoring, maintaining, developing, upgrading, and supporting the entire IT infrastructure and network
5. Configuring/decommissioning hardware (PCs, laptops, servers, printers, door security systems, etc.)
6. Creating and disabling users in Office 365 and Active Directory
7. Server management including patching, backups, certificate management, and storage management
8. Creation/decommissioning of simple SharePoint sites
9. Configuring and troubleshooting telecoms (phones, ISP connections, mobile devices, etc.)
10. Assisting in the implementation of all IT policies and procedures
11. Periodic project work, including an office move to a new site in Kent
Some travel in the southeast will be required, so an unrestricted driving license is essential.
The successful candidate will have performed a similar relatively autonomous role for at least 3-5 years and will possess an excellent, positive, and proactive attitude. You will have excellent knowledge of:
1. Microsoft Cloud Technology (Azure, VM provisioning, Microsoft 365, AD Connect, etc.)
2. PowerShell, Windows Servers, Exchange 365, PDQ
3. Network Maintenance (VPN configuration and management, router configuration, etc.)
4. Configuration of WiFi APs, switches, routers, Internet Security, Domain Controllers, and Active Directory configuration
Additionally, you should have effective diagnostic, fault-finding, and monitoring skills, strong planning/organizational ability, solid technical and user documentation creation, excellent communication skills, and flexibility to work outside of normal hours if required due to business or specific project needs. Knowledge or experience of Cisco Meraki, SQL Server, Mimecast, Dell hardware, Enterprise backup (Veeam/Arcserve), VMWare vSphere, and Microsoft Server 2019 would be helpful. Experience working in a shipping/freight/similar logistics capacity is advantageous.
