Overview
We are seeking an experienced structural steel and metalwork detailer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for fabrication and installation of structural projects including steel frames and staircases.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in advanced steel CAD software and a strong understanding of structural engineering principles.
Responsibilities
* Develop detailed drawings and plans using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and design intent.
* Create 2D and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and Rhinoceros 3D.
* Prepare schematics and layouts for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Revise drawings based on feedback from team members or clients, maintaining an organised record of changes.
* Assist in the preparation of project documentation.
* Provide technical support to fabrication teams during the manufacturing and installation phases.
* Conduct site visits as needed to gather measurements and assess project requirements.
* Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in drafting technology to enhance skills and improve workflow efficiency.
Skills
* Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, 3ds Max, and Rhinoceros 3D is essential.
* Understanding of architectural and engineering principles as they relate to drafting.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members across various disciplines.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
