St James the Less, Pimlico is looking to appoint a Community Outreach Worker working with Adults at Risk (p/t) to help them develop their growing work within their community.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian faith and a passion for reaching out with the gospel in creative ways. They will:
1. Be willing to commit to the community in Pimlico and to be an active member of James the Less.
2. Be able to build on and develop our existing work with the homeless and vulnerably housed, those with dementia, the elderly, and the mentally unwell.
3. Have experience and understanding of working within areas of ethnic diversity and deprivation.
4. Have experience of developing fresh expressions of church amongst the homeless and those struggling with mental ill health.
5. Have experience of issues around addictions.
6. Be a self-starter and strategic thinker.
7. Be able to work flexibly and collaboratively, especially with other staff and with the statutory services.
8. Be an effective trainer and encourager of volunteers.
9. Be willing to get involved in fundraising to develop the role and the work.
For 20 hours per week – to be worked flexibly on site.
Salary pro rata of £26,000-28,000 year i.e. £13,500-14,000 (depending on experience).
