Gap Personnel are currently recruiting for 2 Maintenance Engineers for a company based in Knutsford.
This role reports into the Maintenance Manager and covers the maintenance and repair of the Company’s on-site plant and equipment.

Job Location – Knutsford
Pay rate - 40K
Working Hours: Shift 6-3 and 10-7 (10-7 could move to 11-8 depending on volume). Engineers also cover weekend on a rota basis.
Job Description:
1. React to breakdown situations immediately and in order of priority. If multiple breakdowns, discuss priority with production management.
2. Repair the breakdown in a safe manner. Isolate as required!
3. Document/Record the repair through the company’s PM system.
4. Document any changes on the drawing.
5. Arrange for the refurbishment of the “old” spare or requirement to order new.
6. Liaise with external approved contractors to limit breakdown time as required.
7. Report any problems/root cause to the Senior Maintenance Lead and Engineering Manager.
8. Maintain the Company’s plant and equipment through a formal Planned Maintenance schedule to ensure cost-effective maintenance. Document and record into the company’s PM system. Use and manage the correct tools.
9. Enhance the Company’s plant and equipment through formal designated projects. Provide feedback and create/modify machine documentation in all cases!
10. Maintain the Company’s plant and equipment to an acceptable level of efficiency, as advised by either the Senior Maintenance Engineer, Engineering Manager, Engineering Director, General Manager, MD or the Chairman.
11. Recommend the ordering and stock level of spares to the Maintenance lead.
12. Maintain health and safety standards AT ALL TIMES. Wear appropriate PPE.
13. Attend meetings, discussions, and training sessions as required. Follow the shift rota.
Required Experience:
The ideal candidate will have some background in a similar role and a good time-served apprenticeship within the electrical industry. Good knowledge of current I.E.E. Regulations (Electricians ONLY), City and Guilds of London Part 1, 2, and 3, and an associated electronics course.
