Support the Breast Screening Service Manager in the Symptomatic Breast Service based at West Berkshire Community Hospital.
The post holder will provide a high standard of radiographic imaging whilst ensuring that patients receive high quality care by supporting their physical and psychological needs.
The postholder will be a role model for the profession and will participate in the supervision, training and support of junior staff.
They will exercise autonomy within professional and managerial boundaries and be responsible for the prioritisation and organisation of their own work activities in response to clinical and service needs.
They will have a complete understanding of the breast screening program and Symptomatic Breast Service and be able to provide highly specialist advice on all aspects of the service.
The post is based in the West Berkshire Community Hospital, which is part of the Radiology Department of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The postholder will be required to work within the Radiology Department at West Berkshire Community Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work within the Radiology Department at WBCH providing a Symptomatic Breast Service working with consultant Radiographers and Radiologists. The successful applicant must have excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills. The ability to work effectively, both autonomously and within the team environment.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Diagnostic Radiographers who hold a suitably recognised post qualification in Mammography and are HCPC registered.

Our busy Radiology department carries out a wide range of general and specialist examinations, including Plain film, CT, MRI, Ultrasound & Dexa. We have recently been awarded the title 'University Department of Radiology' for our involvement in research and education in conjunction with the University of Reading.
As a progressive teaching department for Radiographers, we have established links to universities and actively encourage CPD and role extension, with support available to pursue academic courses and develop your career within a supportive and friendly environment. Our department offers excellent training and development opportunities with funding available for a variety of courses. We currently have staff training in Ultrasound, plain film reporting, and PG Cert/Diploma in CT and Health Management as well as attendance on a variety of study days.
