The OT team are an integral part of the Specialist Dementia and Frailty Service within the beautiful West Essex locality. We deliver an assessment, diagnostic and treatment pathway for patients suffering from memory problems across all age spectrums as well as complex case management for patients experiencing functional mental illnesses who are over the age of 75 who have an age related frailty.
You will be supported through strong professional leadership, career development opportunities and access to ongoing training, CPD and clinical supervision. Our links with local Universities present a variety of opportunities for OT staff to take an active part in student education and training.

• You will undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients needs in the West Essex area, using relevant occupational therapy standardised and non standardised assessments and outcome measures.
• You will be developing, facilitating and reviewing, occupational therapy groups such as Cognitive Stimulation Therapy, in line with the evidence base.
• Assessing and treating your own specialist community caseload of patients in accordance with occupational therapy evidence based; using goal setting and interventions focused on re-engagement in self-care, productivity and leisure activities, and promoting health, wellbeing and independence.
• You will provide occupational therapy advice to other disciplines and be involved in providing training, supervision and support to others as required. You may lead clinical audit and undertake research.
• You will provide leadership in the delivery of specialist occupational therapy interventions, and provide care coordination to caseloads have responsibility for the day to day supervision and management of lower banded staff within your professional group and team locality.
• You will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services.
• In delivering your duties you are expected to display behaviours that are aligned with the Trust values and as required in accordance with the NHS Constitution at all times.
