Chef
Job Type: Full and Part-time roles available
Salary: £13.50 – £15 per hour
Our client is looking for a Chef to join their new Bistro / Cafè / restaurant in Luton. They are a small family catering business in Bedfordshire that runs multiple coffee vans, food vans and three cafés. They are professional, agile and innovative.
The Role:
1. Oversee all aspects of food preparation and production in the kitchen.
2. Create and develop new menu items.
3. Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards.
4. Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation workers.
5. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
6. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen area.
7. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
8. Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained when dealing with customers.
Their ideal candidate will:
9. Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role.
10. Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
11. Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
12. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
15. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
16. Driving Licence (preferred).
The restaurant will be open seven days a week and four evenings. Our client is open to conversations around flexible shift patterns to suit both your needs and their business.
