Established in 2007, this independent, family-run practice was created with a mission to minimise feline stress while providing exceptional veterinary care. Recognised with Gold ISFM status, the clinic continues to grow while staying true to its commitment to independence and personalised care for its patients. This new part-time position reflects their dedication to developing their team and maintaining the highest standards of feline healthcare.
Located in Southport, a picturesque seaside town on the North West coast, the clinic offers a unique lifestyle opportunity. Southport boasts beautiful sandy beaches and a vibrant selection of independent restaurants and bars, making it a haven for food lovers and culture enthusiasts. The city of Liverpool is just 45 minutes away, offering an exciting nightlife, theatres, and the M&S Arena. With both Liverpool and Manchester Airports nearby and the stunning Lake District and North Wales within easy reach, the location is ideal for those who love to explore.
As the first feline-only clinic in the Northwest, this practice has built a thriving first-opinion service supported by a loyal client base. The team includes two vets with special interests in dentistry and ultrasonography, as well as a visiting RCVS and European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology. Their nursing team is equally impressive, featuring a Head Nurse and a Veterinary Nurse with a Certificate in Education, both of whom have completed their ISFM Feline Nursing certificates.
The clinic is fully equipped with cutting-edge technology, including Idexx bloods/Sedivue, DR dental (Nomad) X-rays, ultrasound, VetHDO/Doppler BP, TonoVet, and more. Decisions about equipment are made collaboratively, ensuring the team can continuously improve the services they provide. Routine appointments are 15 minutes, with 30 minutes allocated for non-routine visits and medication reviews. They maintain a family-friendly work environment, closing by 6:30 pm and scheduling only a few pre-booked evening surgeries each month, exclusively for routine vaccinations and medication reviews.
The ideal candidate is a vet with a passion for feline medicine who is comfortable handling routine first-opinion surgery (no orthopaedics). This part-time role offers 14 to 25 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate personal commitments. Whether you're a seasoned feline practitioner or looking to deepen your expertise in a supportive, specialist environment, this could be your chance to thrive.
