Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Adult Senior Social Worker within the Hospital Team to work full time based in Hull.
The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker job is up to £40,221 per annum.
Main duties:
* To promote and safeguard the welfare of adults at risk, families, and their carers, within the making safeguarding personal principles.
* Undertake proportionate assessments, determine eligibility, and assess risk. Plan care and support and make the best use of available resources to enable people to live the life they choose. To ensure people are given correct financial advice and information about changing processes of the council.
* Work in partnership with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, utilizing their expertise in the assessment and review process. Assess, identify, and source low-level OT equipment where this could support an individual to live independently or as part of a wider package of care. Undertake the role of an Equipment Trusted Assessor.
* Engage in critical reflection and constructive challenge within the course of working with colleagues, other agencies, and with vulnerable adults and families.
* Actively engage in team meetings/practice forums and other relevant meetings ensuring focused and purposeful social work is undertaken with all cases.
* Work with colleagues in the team to ensure the form of communications are clear and aligned with people’s needs. Demonstrate effective use of evidence-based social work practice. Ensure effective communication with people who have specific communication needs including learning disability, dementia, people who lack capacity, and people with sensory impairment. Make sure advocacy arrangements are suitably in place.
* Work with colleagues in the team to ensure that case recording is up to date and that required information is available for a variety of purposes e.g. Multi-Agency meetings, strategy meetings, panels, court, case conferences, etc.
* Engage in and advise on the professional decision-making process with adults at risk, families, and their carers, and colleagues in relation to complex/high-risk cases. Occasionally deputize for the Practice Lead Manager.
* Provide day-to-day supervision of staff and contribute to the practice education of any social work student attached to the team. Support the leadership team in the development of the team.
* Take a leadership role in managing the daily activity of the team, i.e. allocation, duty work.
Requirements of a Senior Social Worker:
* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
* Experience in a Manager/Supporting Manager role.
