Interpreting customer specifications and requirements to produce high-quality designs. Designing safe and effective low voltage control systems, including bill of materials management. Producing engineering drawings (schematics, layouts, harnesses) and technical documentation. Supporting production teams and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle. Conducting site visits, inspections, and customer meetings as required. Ensuring compliance with relevant safety and engineering standards. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices. The Person. Essential Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electrical control system design. Strong background in industrial control panels, ideally within heavy industrial machinery. Proficiency with electrical CAD software for drafting and design. Ability to specify components and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams. Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent experience (apprenticeship/training acceptable). Desirable Skills & Experience: Professional registration (IEng or CEng). Experience with PLC software programming and commissioning. Knowledge of functional safety and related standards. Previous experience in wiring, site installation, or machinery commissioning. HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
