More detail about the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly team at the South Devon Satellite Kidney Unit. The nurse-led outpatient dialysis unit is on the outskirts of Torquay, providing haemodialysis 6 days a week from 07:30 to 23:00 hours. Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our theatres teams to name just a few. You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person. Applicants are required to have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate high standards of clinical practice. The post holder will work under the supervision of registered nurses and in collaboration with the wider renal team, including nephrologists, specialist nurses and dieticians to undertake patient assessment and perform haemodialysis as well as other aspects of patient care. Renal experience is not necessary as full haemodialysis training will be given, with new staff being supported by a dedicated Clinical Practice Facilitator. Ongoing development is encouraged, with a variety of learning opportunities available throughout the renal service as well as the opportunity to take on link nurse responsibilities. Working Pattern: The working pattern will be a mixture of early (07:30 to 18:30) and late (12:00 to 23:00) shifts worked Monday-Saturday. We are closed on Sundays, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, with no overnight working required. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
