We're looking for a new Resilience Manager! An exciting opportunity has opened up for the right candidate to take a leading role in maintaining and improving the way we undertake our risk and business continuity, emergency planning, and incident response responsibilities at the Council.
Leicester is a unitary Council and as such provides a wide range of critical services across a number of different areas. Home to approximately 370,000 people, it's important that we have the right resilience arrangements in place so that we can respond effectively to major incidents, often working with emergency services partners and other agencies to do so.
We're looking for someone that has expert knowledge of the duties placed on us, as a primary responder, under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), and has experience of delivering emergency planning, resilience, business continuity and risk management arrangements and activities. We need someone that has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, takes a collaborative approach to leadership and innovation, and above all can remain calm and considered under pressure.
Having the ability to grasp key legislation and regulation, and to translate that into robust and appropriate response arrangements is essential. You will also need the ability to manage a small team, making use of resources imaginatively to meet business needs.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and monitoring the Council's emergency planning, business continuity and risk management arrangements.
2. Ensuring compliance with corporate and legal requirements.
3. Creating an environment across the Council that ensures we have tried and tested arrangements in place for business continuity and risk management.
4. Leading efforts to be prepared and resilient, especially in times of crisis.
5. Inspiring and motivating your teams to deliver the best outcomes for the people of Leicester.
As a leader, it is your responsibility to put your people first. In return, we'll give you autonomy over your area to ensure you produce the right outcomes for residents. This means you'll have the scope to challenge the status quo, question the way we do things, and introduce appropriate innovation to improve results. In short, you'll lead us into the future.

Interviews/assessments are planned for the 3rd and 4th April.
