To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of goods and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines., All staff are expected to understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 68/01) which is reflected in our SOP - REF Chapter 1 AHDL GDP 1.1. It will be a requirement for all staff to be trained in this SOP and have an annual refresher. All other GDP training will be job specific and as per your personal training matrix,
* To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
* To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the tyres, lights, brakes, coolant, oil, etc. Faults found should be immediately reported to Transport Management.
* To ensure Weekly Mileage Sheets are correctly completed on a daily basis and completed sheets are passed into transport office prior to commencement of work each Monday morning.
* To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays whilst on the road.
* To maintain the internal and external condition and cleanliness of the vehicle.
* Ensure the vehicle spillage kit is present and in a serviceable condition; any missing or damaged items should be reported immediately.
* To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
* To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
* To check all orders shown on the dropsheets are present and loaded on the vehicle.
* Ensure prompt and correct delivery of all orders in strict drop sheet sequence and signatures are obtained from the customer representatives to confirm delivery of all items.
* To collect goods returned for credit, mail, cheques or delivery bins and ensure their safe return to the branch as instructed by the branch management.
* Ensure damages and breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special handling procedures for HazChems.
* To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
* To help maintain good customer relations.
* To advise management immediately of any changes to their licence status, e.g. points, bans, etc.
* To be involved in other duties as may be defined from time to time by Management.
* Meet all Health & Safety requirements., Constant interaction with external customers
* Regular liaison with other drivers and members of the transport team
Level of Decision Making:
* Required to act on own initiative and work unsupervised
* Required to monitor the condition of own vehicle and report and damages or faults
* Serious faults or damages may result in the driver making the decision the vehicle is not roadworthy, It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are "essential requirements" of this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Essential
* A full driving licence must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
* For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age
* Whilst we do not ask for a clean licence, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points as this may affect our decision to shortlist
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent Customer care
* Intermediate numeracy
Desirable
* Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
* Route planning experience, Drivers are required to maintain a smart appearance due to their constant interaction with external customers.
