Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) at a large, inclusive primary school in Blackpool (FY4). The Role: Position : SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) Start Date : February 2025 Location : Blackpool, FY4 Contract : Full-time, ongoing This role involves supporting a child with ASC in accessing the curriculum, managing sensory needs, and helping them develop essential social and communication skills. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to create a nurturing and structured learning environment. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children with Autism or other additional needs (essential). A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to managing challenging behaviors. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both the child and their wider support team. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Autism Awareness training) are desirable but not essential. A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt strategies to meet the child’s unique needs.
