CNC Turner/Machinist

CNC Turner/Machinist Summary:
As a CNC Turner/Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality precision components. Your expertise will ensure that we meet both production and quality requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
CNC Turner/Machinist Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate CNC turning machines, ensuring precise and accurate manufacturing of components.
2. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Program CNC machines using relevant software to achieve required tolerances.
4. Monitor machine performance and conduct routine checks to ensure quality and efficiency.
5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
6. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
7. Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and production targets.
CNC Turner/Machinist Key Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience as a CNC Turner or Machinist, ideally with a background in precision machining.
2. Strong knowledge of CNC programming and setting up machinery (Fanuc, Siemens, or similar controls).
3. Excellent understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
4. Ability to work with a range of materials including metals, plastics, and alloys.
5. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
6. Experience with measuring instruments and inspection techniques (micrometres, callipers, etc.).
7. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
CNC Turner/Machinist Qualifications:
1. Relevant CNC turning or machining qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
2. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar CNC turning role.
3. Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards is advantageous.
