Unaccredited Advanced Trainee - Cardiology
The Launceston General Hospital Cardiology Department invites applications for Advanced Trainees in Cardiology who have successfully completed RACP exams and are contemplating core training in cardiology in 2025.
This position is an unaccredited cardiology position available for up to two years.
The Launceston General Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital and teaching hospital of the University of Tasmania Medical School. Its Cardiology Department has a busy academic and clinical training program that services a population of 250,000 in Northern Tasmania. It is staffed by eight cardiologists and offers a full range of invasive and non-invasive services. The position is accredited for a full (three years) core training in cardiology and there are currently two accredited and one non-accredited advanced trainees in the Department.

Details of Appointment
Fixed Term, full-time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight with on-call, plus 10 hours of protected training time, commencing as soon as you are able to join our team in early 2025 until 1 February 2026.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Negotiation of contracts of up to two years may be applicable.
Salary:
Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 $134,930 - $189,005 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging and a generous relocation package.
Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Current Working with Children Registration
*Registration/licenses that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.

* Successfully completed RACP exams and are contemplating core training in cardiology in 2024.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job must satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment. The following checks will be conducted:

* Crimes involving dishonesty
* Identification check
* Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
