Automation Engineer

This is a site-based role at Worthing.
To provide hands-on engineering support to production for the improvement and maintenance of the Automation control systems and infrastructure for the Worthing site.
In this role you will:
1. Technical expert for certain site automation equipment within the Worthing site.
2. Provide day-to-day automation support for operation areas on site.
3. Undertake small process improvement projects to the existing automated systems.
4. Ensure Automation facilities and equipment are maintained and installed to meet site requirements.
5. Identify investment opportunities for automation.
6. Ensure compliance with applicable GSK policies and procedures - GES, GQP/G, GQMPs.

Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
1. HNC or Degree level in Instrumentation or related engineering discipline with strong experience in a pharmaceutical or related industry.
2. Proven ability to deliver small Automation based improvement projects on time.
3. Proven ability to manage contractor/consultant staff.
4. Ability to deal confidently with a wide range of customers.
5. Experience in a wide range of Automation and control technologies.
6. Experience in a wide range of field and control instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
1. Proficient utilisation of software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
2. Ability to prioritise and reallocate work to meet project/site timelines.
3. Knowledge of S88, S95, and IEC1131.
4. Experience with networks Profibus, Fieldbus, Ethernet and Serial comms 485, RS232 etc.
