Service Care Solutions are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis, splitting time between CCM and HH. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and develop students at all levels of their education.
Location: Manchester
Responsibilities:
1. Teach Food Preparation and Cooking at Level 2 and Level 3, ensuring students acquire essential skills and knowledge.
2. Deliver engaging lessons across all levels, including technical qualifications.
3. Incorporate pastry skills where applicable, though not a primary focus.
4. Guide and support students in achieving their academic and practical goals.
5. Assess progress through practical assessments, assignments, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
6. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality, consistent learning experience.
7. Participate in team meetings, contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, incorporating new techniques into teaching.
9. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications:
10. CertEd or PGCE.
11. Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (Level 3 preferred).
12. Allergen Training Certification.
13. Relevant qualifications in Food Preparation and Cooking (Level 2 and Level 3).
Experience:
14. Proven teaching experience in culinary arts, ideally within further education.
15. Experience in teaching technical qualifications is advantageous.
16. Practical experience and competence in pastry skills, though not essential.
Skills:
17. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple sites.
18. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly to students at all levels.
19. Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative teaching environment.
20. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students.
