Axcis Education is seeking a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school in Torbay. This role is ideal for a compassionate and dedicated individual who can provide tailored support to students facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), you will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing one-to-one support to children with emotional and behavioural challenges
2. Helping students develop coping strategies, emotional regulation, and resilience
3. Supporting students' social, emotional, and mental health needs to enhance their engagement in learning
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in an educational or support setting
2. Empathy and patience when working with children facing behavioural challenges or trauma
3. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents
